Busy times!

Hello, dear reader. I must apologise, again, for keeping you waiting so long for this latest blog post. I hope that you have been keeping well!

Life has been very busy for me and my art practice during the first half of the year. Not least, we had a successful Oxfordshire Artweeks event in May, with a healthy number of visitors to the studio at Iron Down Farm. I’ve also been most grateful to have had the opportunity to start a series of acrylic painting classes in our local social club hall, which, I am very happy to say, have been well-attended. We’ve been looking at subjects such as colour theory, the role of value in successful painting, composition, and perspective and I’m extremely flattered that (at least occasionally), my pupils seem to be listening to my ramblings! We don’t assume any prior knowledge of painting or art, however, EVERYONE has been doing so well! As you can probably imagine, the classes have taken up a lot of my spare time and more than a little of my waking thought, but I have found them immensely satisfying. There seems to be a bit of copying going on in the photo below, but we don’t mind that - you’re here to enjoy yourself!

If you are reading this, you live in the Woodstock (Oxfordshire) area, and are interested in joining a future class, please feel free to drop us a line via our contact page. We will keep you updated on any future courses that we may run.
